Turkish Airlines restarts Benghazi Service

Turkish Airlines has reopened its flights to Benghazi after a full decade of absence. It has been ten years since the Turkish carrier ended its flights to the Libyan capital due to political conflict.

The Istanbul-Benghazi route reopened on December 4 last year, with three weekly flights.

Benghazi is the 349th destination joining Turkish Airlines’ international network. Passengers using this flight can now reach major cities in North Africa and various European cities served by the Turkish airline from Istanbul.

According to Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer our customers a new choice of fast connectivity (Benghazi) via Istanbul to and from our global network.”

A host of other new services have been announced by Turkish Airlines at the start of the new year, including flights to Hong Kong, Sao Paulo in Brazil and Santiago in Chile.

06.02.2025 flight 8FSSXR from St. Petersburg to Istanbul was cancelled, it was my connecting flight. Booking number 8FSSXR. Then I flew to Abu Dhabi.
Pegasus company could not offer me anything for the nearest dates and times (I had to independently look for new tickets for today. The price is naturally twice as expensive. The day is ruined.

How will these expenses be paid?

    Reimbursement of expenses and inconveniences?
