Find out how to unlock Elite Plus card access, full benefits status
The Elite plus card, which is valid for two years, entitles you to use the lounge at Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gocken, including TA lounges at overseas airports.
The passenger with this status is allowed to travel with an additional piece of baggage of 25 kilograms of baggage on flights operated by TA and Star Alliance partners.
The holder of this card can offer three people of his choice an Elite card for only 40,000 miles.
Request an upgrade to Business class
The Turkish company’s Elite Plus passengers have the right to upgrade their flights to business class twice a year. However, when you try to use it, especially on long flights, you don’t have much luck. Unless, of course, you planned that flight a year in advance.
Maintaining Elite Plus Status
If the cardholder earns 40,000 status miles in the first year or 60,000 status miles in total within 2 years from the date the cardholder becomes eligible for the elite plus card, the elite plus membership continues for two additional years. If any of these criteria are not met, membership upgrades to Elite after two years.
By flying more, you have the privilege of earning more miles on your purchases. If your Turkish Airlines Passenger Program Miles&Smiles status is Elite Plus, you earn at least 50% more miles.
Your additional cards may earn miles from their purchases depending on the Turkish Airlines passenger program status of the additional cards, and miles are accrued in the TK account to which the primary card is linked.
Special service for Elite Plus members
Through the special app available only to Business Class passengers and Elite Plus members, you can present your Elite Plus card and transact at the passport control counter and enjoy its CIP lounge. This request is only valid if the journey is made with Turkish Airlines.
Elite Plus members no longer present their credit card at Turkish Airlines sales offices or during check-in if they purchase tickets online for themselves or loved ones on the Turkish airline’s website.
Regarding the upgrade solutions offered to Miles&Smiles Elite Plus members, paid tickets purchased in classes C, D and J can be upgraded to first class for miles. Upgrades for a paid ticket can only be made to a higher cabin class.
Use of CIP lounges on Star Alliance member airline flights
Elite Plus cardholders, equivalent to Star Alliance Gold status, as required by the Star Alliance CIP lounge usage application, can use all Star Alliance Gold lounge signage worldwide on their flights with Star Alliance member airlines, even if traveling in economy class. Only one guest may enter the CIP halls.
The guest is not obliged to travel on the same flight as the member, provided they are a Star Alliance member airline, it will be sufficient to present the ticket and boarding pass of the flight with another airline air the same day.
Elite Plus members can use the Turkish Airlines contracted lounge with other Star Alliance member airlines, together with a guest they are traveling with on the same flight.
