Surfboards are accepted on board Pegasus flights under certain conditions

Maximum weight and dimensions of a surfboard on board a Pegasus flight
The Fly Pegasus airline allows passengers to check in their boards under certain conditions: The maximum authorized weight of a surfboard must correspond to that of the allowance offered in the plane ticket reservation. So be sure not to exceed this limit.
Besides that, Pegasus requires the dimensions of the surfboard to be less than or equal to 258X59.2X10.6 cm.
How much does it cost to transport surfboard equipment?
A bag of surfboards can actually cost:
- 50 USD (international flight)
- 250 TRY (flight serving Cyprus)
- 200 TRY (domestic flight)
These fares apply when flying roundtrip Pegasus for stays of sixty days or less. If the stay will be longer, the price charged increases.
Fly on a hassle-free surf trip
It’s probably one of the worst flops for a surfer when getting off the plane: finding his board broken in two on the baggage belt at the airport. And depending on the destination of your surf trip, it can be difficult to find a shaper on site to repair the damage, hoping that this is still possible!

The airplane travel bag is, as its name suggests, designed for transporting your board in the hold of the plane. It is therefore thicker and more resistant than traditional surfboard covers or socks that simply protect your car from wax.
So choose an airplane travel cover, especially since it has the specificity of being able to contain several boards. Even if you only take one board on your surf trip, the space left in the travel bag will allow you to take the rest of your things in the hold.
Store your surfboards in your boardbag
First of all, remove the fins from your surfboard. Then, before putting your surfboards in the boardbag, use the inside pockets to store your surf accessories needed for your surf trip: fins, FCS keys, leash, wax. And do not hesitate to take them twice because once there, you will not want to leave the line-up to find yourself a new set of fins if necessary.
Place your boards with the wax on the sky side. Use the board separator included in the boardbag to protect your boards from any collisions between them during transport.
Complete your boardbag by closing the clip buckles and adjusting the straps on each side of your board.
Before saying goodbye to your boardbag on the luggage belt, remove its shoulder carrying strap and slide it inside it. It is better to prevent a possible collision with other luggage which could cause your boardbag to fall on the airport tarmac.
Protect your surfboards during the flight
The travel surfboard cover is designed to protect your surfboard from possible shocks during transport. However, a few tips can optimize the protection of your surfboard:
Reinforce the areas most prone to breakage. The nose and tail are more likely to break in transit than any other part of your surfboard. Use bubble wrap and tape to make custom wraps for them.
