SunExpress plans major fleet expansion
In a bold revelation marking its future ambitions, SunExpress has shared its fleet development plan, aiming for an impressive tripling of capacity. Currently with 66 aircraft, the airline plans a dramatic expansion to reach 166 aircraft by 2034.
The year 2023 witnessed a major milestone in the history of SunExpress with the completion of its largest aircraft order to date. At the Dubai Air Fair, the tuc carrier reached a historic agreement with Boeing, the American aircraft manufacturing giant. The order includes seventy-seven 737 Max model aircraft.
Max Kownatzki, CEO of the Turkish airline, a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, highlighted the importance of this expansion. He revealed that from the next summer season, the SunExpress fleet will be enriched with eleven new aircraft, all supplied by Boeing. This significant injection of new aircraft aims to meet the growing demand from passengers, eager to discover or rediscover the sunny destinations served by this operator.
