Pegasus Airlines launches Istanbul-Sulaymaniyah flight
Pegasus is preparing to expand its network in the Middle East by adding a flight to Sulaymaniyah, its third destination in Iraq after Baghdad and Erbil.
The Turkish carrier has unveiled plans to launch regular service to the Iraqi destination from its hub at Istanbul-Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
Details about this route, such as the start date and flight frequency, have been released: The first flight is scheduled for December 26, 2025, after which Pegasus Airlines will operate three flights per week to Sulaymaniyah International Airport.
This service is restarting after a 24-month suspension due to a flight ban between Istanbul and Sulaymaniyah (resulting from a diplomatic crisis between Turkey and Iraq), which was lifted in October 2025.
With its announced service to Sulaymaniyah, Pegasus Airlines brings its number of destinations in the Middle East to 22. The Turkish carrier already operates regular flights to Jeddah and Medina in Saudi Arabia, Doha in Qatar, and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
