Turkish Airlines to launch Istanbul-Sydney flight soon

The countdown has begun for Turkish Airlines, which is about to open a historic page in the book of global air transport. On December 4, 2024, the Turkish airline will take off for the first time from Istanbul Airport to Sydney.

This impressive new route spans 14,937 km and will highlight the airline’s ability to connect two distant continents with an exemplary regularity of four departures per week. Turkish Airlines is not only reducing distances but also bringing cultures closer together through this air bridge that promises to become a major axis for tourists and business travelers.

The aircraft chosen for this ambitious mission is none other than the A350-900, a large carrier from the Airbus family, known for its efficiency and comfort, especially on long-haul flights like this one. The flight will include a short technical stopover in Kuala Lumpur, allowing the aircraft to refuel and prepare for the second leg of the journey.

This initiative is in line with Turkish Airlines’ international expansion, which has already proven itself with the successful launch of a direct route to Melbourne in March. The connection to Sydney strengthens the airline’s presence in the Pacific.
