Turkish Airlines announces its return to Sulaimaniyah

Turkish Airlines is resuming flights to Sulaimaniyah. After a 30-month hiatus due to security concerns, the Turkish national carrier is once again spreading its wings to the Iraqi destination.

Since November 2nd, Turkish Airlines has been operating its 182-seat, two-class A321 four times a week, offering a departure (flight TK 808) from Istanbul Airport every Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday at 10:30 PM (arriving in Sulaimaniyah at 1:10 AM). Return flights (TK 809) operate the following days at 2:40 AM (arriving in Turkey at 5:40 AM).

Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Executive Board of Turkish Airlines, stated: “We are truly delighted to resume flights to Sulaimaniyah.”

The resumption of this route allows Turkish Airlines to increase the number of Iraqi destinations in its network to six. The national carrier already operates regular flights to Baghdad, Basra, Erbil, Kirkuk, and Najaf.
