AJet launches flights to Cairo
Turkish Airlines subsidiary AJet recently launched its new flights between Istanbul and Cairo. The first flight took off from Sabiha Gökçen Airport last Friday, and the airline now plans to operate the route five times a week.
In a statement, AJet highlighted the strategic importance of the new route, which aims to facilitate the transportation of thousands of passengers between these two historic destinations each year. The initiative is seen as a vital air bridge for both business and tourism between Turkey and Egypt.
Kerem Sarp, AJet’s CEO, expressed his excitement at the inauguration of the flight. “The opening of this route to Cairo is the first step towards expanding our network in Egypt. We are looking to open other routes to several Egyptian destinations, including coastal cities such as Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh,” he said.
Cairo, the capital of Egypt, is a vibrant and bustling metropolis with a thousand-year history. Situated on the banks of the Nile, this city offers a unique blend of past and present, where medieval minarets and modern skyscrapers coexist. Cairo is most famous for its close ties to Pharaonic history, being close to the ancient capital of Memphis, and a stone’s throw from the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx.
