Get a refund from Turkish Airlines: Fill out the online form

Did you know that Turkish Airlines has a refund policy? If you book a flight and then decide to cancel or change your travel plans, you could get a full refund. Or at least it was until recently. Now they only offer partial refunds.

The ticket holder is entitled to a full refund of the ticket price (EcoFly, ExtraFly, PrimeFly and Business Flexible) if he cancels his reservation within 24 hours of booking his flight or within 5 to 10 days of the scheduled departure time.

The ticket holder may cancel their reservation up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure time without penalty. In this case, however, he must pay the difference between the face value of the ticket and the amount he paid as deposit.

The cancellation and refund policy for Turkish Airlines’ six international fare types may vary depending on the fare type and destination. If you wish to cancel your flight within 24 hours of booking, you can do so free of charge. However, if you cancel your flight after 24 hours, you will have to pay a fee.

You have two options when it comes to canceling your ticket – either you can call or email Turkish Airlines directly. When you contact them, they will let you know the applicable fees. You must then take this information into account before making any decision as to whether or not to continue your trip.

The Turkish airline has one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings in the aviation industry. The airline offers a full refund for canceled flights only if passengers cancel at least 48 hours before departure, and this remains dependent on the fare conditions of their flight tickets.

Turkish Airlines refunds its customers’ tickets if they cancel their flight within 24 hours of booking. Indeed, the airline believes that canceling a ticket within 24 hours of booking is a choice rather than a necessity.

Turkish Airlines Refund Policy: What if you can’t use your ticket?

If you purchased a ticket and later find out that you will not be able to travel on that date or time slot due to an unforeseen event, you can file a claim with the airline for a refund. However, there are certain circumstances where you should not make such a claim. For example, if you have already checked in for the flight when you realize that you can no longer take it, you would have missed the check-in deadline.

You can also consult your travel insurance provider to request reimbursement. They could consider the situation covered by their policy.

If you choose to request a refund, you must do so within three weeks of the original purchase date or return date, whichever comes first.

Claiming a refund from Turkish Airlines: By which means of contact?

To get a refund from Turkish Airlines, you need to fill out a form with all the information about the claim. This includes your name, address, email address, telephone number, passport number and the reason you were unable to travel. Once you submit the form, it takes up to ten days for you to receive a response from the carrier.

If you believe your flight has been canceled for reasons beyond your control, such as illness, injury or death of a loved one, you should seek assistance from the airline’s customer service department. They should be able to give you further advice on what to do next.

If you think you are entitled to a refund, you may need to provide them with proof of the cancellation.

This could include proof that you booked the trip through the airline’s website or by calling their reservation agents. Also, if you purchased your ticket online, you may have access to certain emails or other documents.

Get a refund in the form of a voucher

If you contact the airline to request a refund, be sure to include all relevant details in your request including first and last name, date of birth, ticket reference, departure and arrival airport and dates of travel.

Turkish Airlines offers you to choose between obtaining a refund in cash or in the form of a voucher, if you prefer the second choice, you must log in to your Manage Booking account, and make the request in one click.

    The Turkish airline plane was delayed on departures. Therefore we lost connection flight from Istanbul to Venice. Next flight was almost next 9 hours. The airline customer Service had been very rude & impatient. They kept us in the airport with no accommodation. For leaving the airport & coming back needs paying for visa, we did not plan for all this chaos. Because of delayed we lost so much money for the booking Car & Hotel as well.
    I hope you understand our frustration.

    Dear Turkish Airlines customer service, I hope you’re doing well. I am writing to bring to your attention a matter concerning my recent airline ticket booking with Turkish Airlines. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing war situation in the destination country, I find myself and my daughters in a situation where travel is not advisable or safe. I am an Australian citizen currently living in Australia. I had a ticket booked with Emirates Airlines to reach my destination in Lebanon and then travel to France. In this situation, I can’t travel as my booking has been cancelled and refunded. I didn’t see my family for more than four years due to COVID-19. The Australian government advises citizens to travel to the Middle East, as we’re going to my destination to travel with a Turkish airline. I kindly request your assistance in processing a refund for my airline tickets. I understand that the situation is beyond anyone’s control, and I appreciate your understanding in this matter and your assistance in resolving it as efficiently as possible.     hello.

    I am referring to my flight from TLV to BRU that was scheduled on October 11, – booking reference; SU5K7T, that got cancelled due to the circumstances going on in Israel.
    although I have already received a refund with money back in the value of my return journey, and I also understand that am not the only one asking fo compensation, but I think that in my case that I had 7 tickets booked with you and they got cancelled on the same day of scheduled departure and as soon I had to give up my house in Jerusalem that morning as I agread beforeh, I didn’t have an other option than booking new tickets for that same day which costed up for each traveler around the same amount that I received from you for us all together. ( please take in mind that if it would have been cancelled a day or two before it would probably cost me half the money..).
    so in my case, I would think that it’s fair to entitle me with a full refund for entitle cost of my return journey,
    (if needed am willing to send the resite of my new journey, where you could see how much it costed me – a total of aroumd 7-800 euro per person.

    Hi,
    my Turkish Airlines flight nro TK45 from Cape Town to Istanbul on 10.1.2023 is cancelled and due to that I’ll miss my connecting flight from Istanbul to Helsinki also. I got a new flight from Cape Town to Istanbul and then to Helsinki but it leaves on 12.1.2023 so I’ll miss one day of work in Finland (worth 400 euros) and I have to buy new train tickets from Helsinki to my hometown (worth 20 euros). I need to book 2 extra nights to Cape Town also (around 150 euros). I’d like to get a refund for all these extra costs which the cancellation has caused.

    On the 27th of september we received a cancelation from Turkisch Airlines of our flight 1954 (AMS-IST11 november), 682 (IST-LXR 12 november), 683 (|LXR-IST 24 november), 1951 (IST-AMS 24 november).
